CFP Advisory Group

Our advisory group was created in 2014 for the purpose of working with local stakeholders and experts in the financial planning community to further the mission of the FSU CFP Program by advising and assisting the program in identifying areas for improvement in the delivery of its products and services.

Membership includes representation of the following groups: current and former students, program faculty, and CFP® practitioners.

Allie Vanlandingham

Allie Vanlandingham is a graduate of Florida State University. She is currently going through the FSU CFP Program and serves as a student representative in the Advisory Group.

Allie is a Trust Administrator for Capital City Trust Company. Prior to transitioning to the financial planning field, she served as both public relations manager and client experience manager for Capital City Bank Marketing.

Michael Davino, CFP®

Michael Davino is a graduate of Florida State University and holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation. He is a Financial Advisor with Waddel & Reed Inc.

Along with his work as a Financial Advisor, Michael is a Standing Advisor to the Board of the Animal Shelter Foundation, a member of the Greater Tallahassee Chamber of Commerce, and a past Board member of the Lemoyne Center for Visual Arts. He also owns a nursery, Just Fruits and Exotics, in Crawfordville, FL.

Ben Bowersox, CFP®

Ben Bowersox is a graduate of the MBA program at Florida State University. He holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation; FINRA licenses 7, 63, and 65; and the Florida 2-15 Resident Health & Life Agent License.

Ben serves as a Wealth Advisor with a focus on financial and estate planning for Capital City Trust Company and Capital City Investments. Prior to that, he worked as a business development position with a Fortune 500 firm. Before his business career, he served as a naval officer and naval aviator with multiple deployments in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Gary Parsons, CFP®, CLU®

Gary Parsons is a graduate of Troy University in Alabama and holds the Certified Financial Planner™ and Chartered Life Underwriter® designations. He is a Financial Advisory with Waddell & Reed Inc.

Gary has over 30 years of experience in the field. Along with his work as a Financial Advisor, he teaches Insurance Planning for the FSU CFP Program and he writes a financial planning column for the Tallahassee Democrat newspaper.

Bruce Hagan, CFP®

Bruce Hagan is a graduate of Florida State University and holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation; FINRA licenses 4, 7, 24, 51, and 66; and is licensed by the State of Florida as a life insurance and variable annuity agent.

Bruce has over 35 years in the securities industry and owns his own business. Along with his work as a Financial Advisor, he teaches Investment Planning for the FSU CFP Program.
