Using the Test Manager
Overview
The Test Manager allows you to create tests and quizzes for delivery through the Blackboard system.

Go to the correct course.

Select Control Panel in the course menu on the left.

Under Assessment Select Test Manager.

Select the Add Test button.

Provide a Name for the Test.

Provide any necessary instructions or descriptions.

Select Submit.

Go into Creation Settings to add specific feedback, images or files, set default point values, and include other options you might want to use in question creation. When you're done, select Submit.

Select Ok.

Select the correct question type from the Add drop down menu.

Provide the necessary information on the next screen (or screens) for the specific question and click Submit.

Repeat these steps as necessary.

Return to the Control Panel.

Select the Content Area in which you wish the test to be placed.

Select the Add Test button.

Select the correct test from the Add Test menu.

Select Submit.

Select Ok.

Since you've already set up the test question, you are unlikely to need to Modify the Test, instead, go into Modify the Test Options.

Decide if you want to Open Test in New Window. Please be aware that pop-up blockers can prevent students from seeing tests that open in a new window.

If you want your students to see the test, the Make the Link Available option must be set to Yes.

You can choose to automatically create an announcement letting your students know about the test using Add a New Announcement for this Test.

Choose whether or not to allow Multiple Attempts. Please note that if you do not allow multiple attempts, if a technical error causes a student to get locked out of the test you may need to clear their attempt for them to complete the test. You can decide whether the students get unlimited attempts or a set number.

Choose whether or not to Force Completion. If this is turned on, the students cannot save their work and return later.

Choose whether or not you want to Set a Timer for the test. This will display a timer for students. It will not lock students out of the test when time runs out. It will put a note in Grade Center that they went over time and how far over.

You can set Display After and Display Until dates. Keep in mind that if have Make the Link Available set to No these dates will not override that, they will override if the link is available.

If you wish to create an Password for the test, you can set it here.

Choose what kind of Test Feedback the students see. This can be changed at any time.
- Decide whether you want the test to display All at Once or with the questions One at a Time. If you select One at a Time you can decide whether students can go back to previous questions.

Decide whether you want the questions to appear in a random order.

Select Submit.
