Using Collaboration Tools
Overview
Blackboard allows synchronous communication with the Collaboration tools. These include a Virtual Classroom with a white board feature and a basic text chat called Office Hours. Below are directions for you to create collaboration sessions with other names.
Create collaboration sessions using the Blackboard Control Panel:

Go to the course in which you wish to set up the collaboration session.

Select Control Panel in the course menu on the left.

Under Course Tools select Collaboration.

Select the +Collaboration Session button at the top of the page.

Provide a name for the Collaboration Session.

If you want your students to be able to access the session, make sure Available is set to Yes. You can then set start and end dates for the session, so that users can only join during those times.

Choose whether you want to use the Chat (basic text chat) or Virtual Classroom tool for this session.

Select Submit.

Select Ok.
