Master of Science

The Department of Middle and Secondary Education at Florida State University is pleased to announce there are a limited number of openings for the on-line master's degree program in science education for distance learners.
This program is designed for science teachers who:

  • Are currently teaching and who are already certified,
  • Would like to pursue a Master's Degree in Science Education but may be unable to attend regular class sessions,
  • Are competent in a science content area or who have the ability to develop such content expertise on one's own,
  • Want to become more reflective and effective science teachers.

The program emphasizes science teaching methods, research, pedagogy, and philosophy rather than science content. Although the program is not structured around science content, content is embedded within each of the courses.
