Instructional Systems Online
Certificate in Online Instructional Development (Instructional Systems program)

The Certificate in Online Instructional Development is a non-degree program offered through distance learning technology. The program should be completed within a five-year period. Twelve credit hours earned as a special student for the Certificate may be applied toward a degree upon admission to the Master's in Open and Distance Learning program. The certificate is designed for full-time employees and graduate students.
Any individual who has an undergraduate degree and is eligible to enroll as a special student (non-degree seeking), or who qualifies for graduate admission to the university is eligible to apply for admission to the Online Instructional Development program.

Requirements

    • Completion of 15 approved credit hours
    • Six of the 15 hours must be online
    • Three core course and two or more electives
    • 3.25 GPA
    • No grade below B-
    • Complete program in 5 years
    • Complete portfolio review

2008-2009 Program Costs

  • Tuition and Fees
    • Florida resident: $330.55 per credit hour
    • Non-Florida resident: $961.95 per credit hour
    • Residing in Leon, Gadsden, or Wakulla Counties (non-campus students):
      • Florida resident: $355.75 per credit hour*
      • Non-Florida resident: $987.15 per credit hour*
      • *Add additional $20.00 per semester for mandatory Student Facilities Use Fee
  • Books
    We estimate the cost of books and course materials for an academic year to be $350.00. Students are responsible for the cost and shipping fees of all books and course materials. Contact your academic coordinator (see below) to learn which bookstore offers course materials for your degree program.
  • Financial Aid

    Six hours or more at FSU
    Students who are taking 6 semester hours or more may be eligible for financial aid. If you are interested in applying for financial aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form is available online on the Office of Financial Aid website. The website also provides financial aid information pertaining to the University.
