Graduate Programs

Library and Information Studies
Master of Science
Master of Arts
Specialist (Post-master's)

Our ultimate goal is to provide you with the foundation to begin your career as an information professional. The ALA-accredited master's degrees focus on users and their interaction with information technology, products, services and organizations. Three concentrations are offered: Information Needs & Services, Youth Information Needs & Services, Information Architecture & Technology.

The LIS program is ranked first nationally in Children and Youth Services, fifth nationally in School Library Media and tenth nationally in Information Systems. The MS degree can be completed entirely online. The MA cannot. Courses are scheduled so that students employed full-time and/or with families can participate and earn the MS in less than three years. The Specialist Post-master’s degree allows students to focus on their own specific interests in the field of library and information studies. It can be completed entirely online.
