Apply

Graduate Students, Transient

If you are a graduate student seeking a degree from a university other than FSU, you may register for a graduate-level course without going through regular application procedures, if the course is offered to transient students. Registration does not require transcripts, GRE scores, or application fees; however, tuition and fees must be paid.

To take graduate-level courses as a transient student, you must:

  1. Contact the FSU online degree program that is offering the course to determine if they allow non-degree seeking transient enrollment. Check with the departmental Academic Coordinator (listed at the bottom of each Graduate Programs page.)
  2. Obtain an approval form from your host institution.
  3. Have your graduate dean approve the course at FSU that you wish to take (as to whether it will be accepted for transfer).
  4. Submit this signed approval form to:
    Office of Admissions
    Florida State University
    A2500 University Center
    Tallahassee, Florida 32306-2400

For more information, contact the Office of Admissions by e-mail or by phone at (850) 644-3420.
