Graduate Students, Readmission

You must apply for readmission to the University if you:

  • Are returning after an absence of two or more terms and you left in good standing
  • Have been granted a degree from FSU
  • Were registered for examination only and were expecting, but failed, to complete a degree

Note: If seven years have elapsed since your departure from the University, you must apply through the Office of Admissions, according to procedures for newly admitted students.

The application must be submitted according to the deadlines posted on the FSU Readmissions Application webpage. Applications must be submitted to the Readmissions Office at least 60 days prior to the beginning of the term for which you want to be readmitted. For readmission deadlines:

  • Go to the University Calendar, and scroll down to the second table, which is titled "Admission/Readmission Dates."
  • Fill out an FSU Readmissions Application. FSU link
  • Request transcripts -- If you attempted college work at any institution since your last enrollment at FSU, you must have official transcripts from the institution sent to:

  • Complete all pages, sign, and date the application.
  • Submit the application via mail or fax to the above address or number with attention to the Readmission Section.
