Request a Midterm Evaluation
The Center for Teaching and Learning can administer an interim student assessment of your teaching while there is still time left to use that feedback to fine-tune your instruction. We use the Teaching Assessment By Students (TABS) instrument, that is similar to the end of the semester SPOTS/SUSSAI instrument. We can get the results very quickly, and meet with you to interpret the results. We suggest administering the instrument between the 4th and 6th week of class.
It is important to note that this is not an evaluation – it doesn’t go into any personnel folder, and is the property of the instructor. TABS is typically used in conjunction with a classroom observation and meeting with a Center for Teaching and Learning Teaching Enhancement Associate.
TABS can be offered 1) by CTL staff who will come into your class and administer a bubble-sheet version or 2) on-line by using the Blackboard Assessment System.
