When: Wed. - Thurs., August 19-20, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Where: HCB (Classroom Building)
What: Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Conference
Attendee Registration - All participants are asked to register for this event.
Before each fall semester begins the Program for Instructional Excellence (PIE) offers a two day teaching conference for graduate student teaching assistants (TAs). This conference is free to participants and focuses on policies and services of the University as they relate to teaching.
Learn strategies, methods, and tools for teaching; understand the role of the TA as a student, instructor, and apprentice; learn about University policy issues such as academic integrity and sexual harassment, and have procedures in place to address such issues; and network with experienced TAs and FSU faculty.
Conference participants have an opportunity to earn a PIE Certificate through submitting reflective statements on the sessions they attend and by writing a teaching philosophy indicating knowledge and a commitment to teaching at FSU.
New for 2009: Lunch will be provided on both days of the conference.
Network with colleagues and learn about campus teaching resources at lunches sponsored by The Congress of Graduate Students. When you register, please indicate if you plan to stay for lunch.
Location: HCB (Classroom Building)
Parking: Please allow yourself plenty of time to get to campus and to find parking.
The Program for Instructional Excellence (PIE) is available to help you with any questions that you might have about your teaching at FSU. If we don't have the answer, we will find the person who does. Please do not hesitate to contact us at:
