PIE Conference Schedule

PIE Fall Teaching Conference

microscope Intended to supplement departmental Teaching Assistant (TA) training programs, the Program for Instructional Excellence (PIE) Fall Teaching Conference is free to participants and focuses on policies and services of the University as they relate to teaching. Presenters and participants include senior university administrators, Dean of Graduate Studies, Center for Teaching & Learning staff, Faculty and experienced TAs. The goals of the PIE Teaching Conference are for graduate students/TAs to:

  • Learn strategies, methods, and tools for teaching
  • Understand the role of the TA as a student, instructor, and apprentice
  • Know about University policy issues such as academic integrity and sexual harassment, and have procedures in place to address such issues
  • Network with experienced TAs and faculty

Who Should Attend?

  • All new graduate students/TAs who will teach at FSU
  • Returning/experienced graduate students/TAs who would like to enhance their teaching skills
  • Faculty/staff involved in undergraduate education are also welcome to attend
