Joe Clark is a CTL instructional consultant and a doctoral student in Communication. He’s just one of many FSU faculty who've been exploring the learning and research potentials of online environments for some time now, and hopes this event will help share the groundbreaking work of his colleagues with the rest of the FSU and Tallahassee community.
Second Life is already being used for library services and distance learning, and scholars are starting to see its potential as a site of continuing research on social behavior and culture.
Find out what's going on with Second Life at FSU at a one-day conference sponsored by the Center for Teaching and Learning and featuring presentations by faculty from a number of disciplines across campus.
The event is open free of charge to all members of the FSU community and the general public, and will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 13, in the Starry Conference Room of the Rovetta Building. A parallel presence in Second Life is also planned.
Note: Lunch will not be provided; however, feel free to bring a brown bag lunch with you so we can continue the conversation!
To keep abreast of conference-related announcements and receive a detailed agenda, be sure to register online. Registration is recommended but not required, and you may drop in for a single presentation or stay for the day.
Come join the discussion and see what potential virtual worlds might hold for your academic and professional future!
