Insurance Planning - Instructor
Jim Lee was first involved in Florida State University's Certificate in Financial Planning Program as an instructor for the traditional Insurance Planning classroom course in Pensacola, and has been the instructor for this online course since the online program's inception in 1997. A graduate of the University of Florida, Jim has spent the past 40+ years in Insurance and Risk Management, first at the company level, then as principal of Lee Insurance Agency, and now as a consultant, Public Adjuster, and instructor in Insurance. In addition to this FSU course, Jim is also a State of Florida certified instructor for agent pre-licensing courses in property and casualty insurance and life insurance and continuing education in both, and also instructor for the state's Accredited Claims Adjuster professional designation. Jim's area of specialization has been risk management in the personal, commercial and governmental arenas. He is frequently called upon to serve as an expert witness in cases involving insurance litigation and has been selected as mediator/umpire in numerous property insurance disputes throughout the state.
Jim and Page have been married for 42 years and have two children – Gary is an Attorney in Alabama and Cindy is a CPA in South Carolina – and two grandchildren. Jim is a member and past-president of the Gulf Breeze Rotary Club, a member and past Commodore of the Pensacola Yacht Club, and an avid hunter and saltwater fisherman.
