Florida State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS), and FSU's Certificate in Financial Planning Program is registered with CFP Board in Washington, DC.
Florida State University does not certify individuals to use the CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM, and
marks. CFP® certification is granted only by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. to those persons who, in addition to completing an educational requirement such as this CFP Board-Registered Program, have met its ethics, experience, and examination requirements.
CFP®, CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM, and
are certification marks owned by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc. These marks are awarded to individuals who successfully complete CFP Board's initial and ongoing certification requirements.
Please note that we are delivering an education program and not a test-preparation program, although we are very much aware that our participants must ultimately pass the CFP® Certification Examination. Just as Law School meets the education requirement to ultimately become a practicing attorney, our program meets the education requirement to ultimately earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification. And just as significant preparation is required to pass the bar exam, so will there be significant outside preparation required to pass the CFP® Certification Examination.
Additional information and requirements for attaining the CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification are listed in Frequently Asked Questions. Other more specific questions must directed to CFP Board at:
