CLAST
The College-Level Academic Skills Test (CLAST) is Florida's own test for educational accountability as mandated in Section 1008.29 of the Florida Statues. It consists of four subtests: essay, English language skills (ELS), reading, and mathematics. Each subtest yields a single score that is reported to the student and to the institution needing the scores.
- Paper and pencil format
- English Language Skills, Reading, and Math CLAST exams are available on computer in the Test Center in University Center C, Suite 1200. Note: The essay portion of this exam is only offered in the paper-and-pencil format of the CLAST.
- Test dates and registration periods
- Test on June 7, 2008 - Register April 28 through May 9, 2008
- Test on October 4, 2008 - Register August 25 through September 5, 2008
- Test on February 21, 2009 - Register January 12 through January 23, 2009

- CAT CLAST: Computer-based test format
- English Language Skills, Reading, and Math CLAST exams are available on computer. Note: The essay portion of this exam is only offered in the paper-and-pencil format of the CLAST.
- Appointment times are Monday through Thursday at 8:30am, 10:30am, 1:30pm, and 5:30pm and Friday at 8:30am, 10:30am, and 1:30pm. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
- To register:
- FSU students: Bring money order or Smartchip payment and FSU ID to University Center C, Suite 1200, 8am - 5pm, Monday-Friday. Upon arrival, you will be asked to complete a registration form and then you may schedule an appointment to take the test.
- Non-FSU students: Contact the CLAST institutional test administrator at your school to find out how to make arrangements to take this test at FSU.
Fee: $30.00, payable to FSU by money order or FSU Smartchip only.
